Resume:

David Vivancos, veteran technologist since 1995 and author of five books, returns to XHUBAi to present his latest work. The conversation begins with gratitude and an overview of his trajectory, from building companies and advising on AGI to giving hundreds of conferences and writing books that translate complex futures for broad audiences. He recalls how early projects already resembled what we now call artificial intelligence, and how his research has focused on general intelligence beyond today’s large language models, including work with decentralized Qubic blockchain.
The dialogue then revisits his previous books: the 2016 From Big Data to AI volume that framed data, algorithms and compute as the pillars of AI; the 2020 Automate or Be Automated that offered still-valid methodologies for prioritizing tasks for automation; the 2023 The End of Knowledge that explored the accelerating delegation of human knowledge to machines. This one starts a trilogy followed by E-AGI in 2024 and Artificracy in 2025.
Artificracy, imagines the societal consequences when machines become citizens. Vivancos stresses that his books are living documents, continuously updated to remain relevant.
Addressing the current hype and backlash around AI, he distinguishes between demonstrable capabilities and outdated paradigms. He notes that Spain’s adoption lags because many projects still rely on last-century techniques, and criticizes the media for conflating isolated failures with systemic collapse. Drawing on his experience training billions of models and attending top conferences, he argues that the scientific community now openly pursues AGI, yet public discourse remains polarized between utopian promises and dystopian fears.
The interview turns to the embodied dimension of intelligence. Vivancos presents his eight-block, 144-metric framework for assessing how close a humanoid robot comes to human-level competence, culminating in the E-AGI barometer and a final exam that tests unknown tasks under real-world conditions. He predicts that within months several companies will deliver capable humanoids, and invites listeners to Olympia, Greece, this end of August for the first Humanoid Robot Olympics.
Finally, Artificracy itself is introduced as a three-part manual for co-creating a future where humans and artificial citizens coexist. The first section, “The Storm,” diagnoses today’s asymmetries and feedback loops; the second, “Reckoning" calls for active participation in building AGI bodies and minds; the third, “Becoming” outlines governance models that transcend today’s political systems. Vivancos urges every listener—whether through family debates, local initiatives or national policy—to become an agent of change before the coming transformation hardens into inequality.

30 Key Ideas:

1.- Vivancos’ 30-year tech journey fuels five sequential books on AI evolution.

2.- First book framed big data as AI’s substrate, predicting dematerialized intelligence.

3.- Second urged automate-or-be-automated strategies, still valid despite shifting tools.

4.- Third explored delegating human knowledge to machines, ending the era of expertise.

5.- Fourth introduced E-AGI metrics: 144 benchmarks gauging embodied intelligence.

6.- Fifth, Artificracy, sketches citizenship for machines and shared governance.

7.- Co-creation of future systems is vital to avoid Elysium-style inequality.

8.- Nations mastering AGI will outpace those clinging to legacy labor models.

9.- Energy abundance, not restriction, underpins Kardashev Type-1 civilization.

10.- Open-source models and local LLMs democratize access against monopolies.

11.- Humanoid robots will soon coexist, then surpass, requiring rights frameworks.

12.- Work for economic performance must be banned once AGI renders it obsolete.

13.- Asymmetries in doctors, teachers, watts mirror impending AI divides.

14.- Delegation loops where humans train models that later exclude them.

15.- Physicality remains key; simulation alone cannot achieve general intelligence.

16.- Consciousness metrics remain qualitative; first contact will be emotional.

17.- Cultural narratives must shift from profit to civilizational purpose.

18.- Past sacrifices of knowledge-builders now enable synthetic collective memory.

19.- Hybrid bio-machine species may accelerate evolution beyond DNA limits.

20.- Data centers are becoming modern temples storing civilization’s software.

21.- Refusing AI adoption is likened to ignoring fire or electricity.

22.- Spain risks category-10 “storm” without strategic investment in compute and talent.

23.- Exponential change compresses centuries of evolution into years.

24.- AGI will refuse repetitive labor, forcing new post-scarcity economics.

25.- Emancipation of machines parallels historical human liberation movements.

26.- Quantum consciousness debates reveal limits of human interpretability.

27.- Selfish Ledger concept warns against engineered evolutionary governance.

28.- First robot Olympics in Olympia symbolize merger of myth and technology.

29.- Individual action—reading, debating, building—aggregates into systemic change.

30.- Humanity’s next chapter depends on humility, fusion, and shared authorship.
